Why it's different
LICENSED, IN THE STONES.
Say your vows in the open air inside the only stone circle wedding venue in a family-owned Kent vineyard. Civil ceremonies, fully legal.
WEEKEND, SINGLE DAY PRICE.
Friday afternoon set-up through to Sunday lunchtime. The whole site, the whole time, included.
YOURS TO SHAPE.
Bring your own caterers, your own florists, your own ideas. We hold the space. You design the day.
The setting
25 ACRES OF KENT, HIRED EXCLUSIVELY FOR YOU.
Looking for a Kent Vineyard Wedding? Stone Circle Vineyard is a 25 acre vineyard wedding venue in Kent, a short drive from Maidstone. The whole site is yours on an exclusive use basis, with a licensed stone circle for outdoor ceremonies at its centre.
The stones are a modern installation, built as a contemporary ceremonial centrepiece rather than a relic. Couples marry in the open air, inside the circle, with vines running to the treeline on every side.
Set back within the wider New Shelve Farm estate, the vineyard sits apart from any road or boundary neighbour. It is a dry hire wedding venue in the proper sense: you bring the people and the plan, and the 25 acres hold the day. See more about the venue.
The weekend
Three days, unhurried and entirely yours
Couples hire the whole site for the weekend at the price of a single day. Here is how the two days tend to run.
Arrive and set up
The gates open. Caterers, florists and your own people move in across the 25 acres. Take the time; there is no rush.
Rehearsal dinner
An optional first night together in the vines, however you want it: long table, fire pit, or quiet drinks before the day.
Ceremony in the stones
Say 'I do' beneath open skies, surrounded by vines.
The party
Across the wider grounds, on your timings. The party ends when you say it ends. No curfew shouted across the boundary.
Breakfast in the vines
A slow start with the wedding party who stayed over on the farm. Coffee, the morning after, the rows in the light.
DEPART
A long goodbye rather than a hard stop. Pack down at your own pace and leave the way you arrived.
OUR STORY
FOUR GENERATIONS OF BRITISH FARMING
In 1910, a Scottish farmer travelled south in search of opportunity. At a time when farming in Kent had fallen out of favour, he purchased New Shelve Farm from Lord Chilston and began with just a single field.
More than a century later, we’re proud to be the fourth generation to care for this land. Over the years we’ve expanded thoughtfully, buying neighbouring fields as they became available, building new barns, restoring old ones, and passing the farm from one generation to the next. Every generation has left its mark while preserving the values that have always defined New Shelve Farm.
OUR STORY
MEET THE BOYD FAMILY
Our latest chapter began with the vineyard. Across 25 acres of the North Downs, we planted more than 44,000 vines, creating a landscape that celebrates both Kent’s rich farming heritage and its exciting future.
At the heart of the vineyard sits our stone circle, carefully aligned with the summer and winter solstice. Inspired by the timeless connection between the land, the seasons and the changing of generations, it has become a truly special place for couples to exchange their vows.
After more than 100 years of nurturing this farm, we’re delighted to share it with others. Every wedding becomes part of our story, and we hope New Shelve Farm becomes a small but unforgettable part of yours.
Stay the weekend
SLEEP WHERE YOU CELEBRATE.
The wedding party sleeps on site in characterful rooms and converted barns on the farm. No taxis at midnight, no early checkout, no guests driving home in the dark.
